The sixth grade fall computer students researched animals and created a non-fiction Power Point about the critters. Following their presentations to the class, each student wrote a fiction piece about their animals. Click the names to see their articles. The blue letters are links they have added.

Education Plans (WEP's) are currently being developed for middle school gifted
students.Elementary WEP's have
been completed. You will be receiving the district salmon copy; please sign it
and return it to school.I will
then send home your white parent copy.

Imagination teams are now forming, with an organizational deadline of Nov.
13.This is an extracurricular

NUMATS - Northwestern University Midwest Academic Talent

Students in grades 7 and 8 have been screened and identified
for participation in NUMATS.Materials will be distributed to eligible students on Friday, Oct. 9th
and Monday, October 12th.NUMATS is a program which allows students to take the SAT or the ACT
while still in Middle School.
Students are eligible in various ways: OAT scores of
"Advanced" in math or reading, achievement test scores, past participation in
NUMATS, eligibility for a district gifted program or parent/teacher nomination.
If your child was not identified as a result of screening
and if you feel that your son/daughter would benefit from taking the ACT or SAT
as a middle school student, please contact Marsha Rizor (389-4815.)
The tests will be given on January 23 and/or Feb. 6th,
2010.
