Members of the Pleasant High School National Honor Society continued to fulfill two of their four pillars by leading and serving at the Senior Service Day. This year, the members spent the morning hours at the historic Marion Palace Theatre. Students did landscaping, litter pickup, and cleaning of all the woodwork.
After an afternoon lunch buffet at Godfather’s Pizza, the students journeyed to the Marion Dog Pound. At the pound, members helped clean parts of the inside and outside of the facility. They also walked and bathed the dogs awaiting adoption.
The final stop was next door at the Marion Area Humane Society. The students cleaned the inside of the facility and also spent time caring for the dogs and cats.
Earlier this month (May 2nd) the entire NHS (not just Seniors) also cleaned up a portion of Neidhart Road as part of their commitment to serving the Pleasant Community. Mr. Styer, the NHS Advisor, wants to personally thank the members who volunteered their time and efforts to serve and improve our community.
