One of our extended response goals for the year in Kindergarten is learning how to write a good sentence.  Writing a sentence can be very overwhelming to 5 and 6 year olds, however, many are very capable if that fear is taken away. The "Sentence Rap" was written one day during recess in order to make them forget about the fear and have a little fun.  The children love it and it seems to have really helped them remember all the important pieces.  The 4 pieces we are trying to remember in our sentences are making sure our sentence makes sense, using a capital letter, remembering our spaces, and using punctuation.  I hope that you will enjoy our Rap as much as all the kids in K-C do!

Dear Parent(s),

The scheduled two-hour delays for this school year have been canceled. These dates were originally scheduled for September 25th and January 15th.

Please be advised that we will start school at the regular time on those dates.

Thanks for a great start to another school year! Our students accomplish great things year after year especially in the areas of their achievement and personal growth. I'm certain 2009-2010 will be no different!

PE at Pleasant Elementary and Middle School

Pleasant Elementary students had the opportunity for several weeks this winter to roller skate in the gym.  We had a great time learning to skate and as a result, many students were able to use their skills at the Zoomers skating rink in Marion.  The Skatetime program was funded by the PEP grant.

Pleasant Middle School students are invited to stay after school on Tuesdays to play ping pong in the small gym.  We are having a great time competing with each other and challenging middle school staff to play.  Anyone with an interest in learning ping pong or improving their skills is welcome to play ping pong until 3:30 on Tuesdays.
