Student Requirements Each student is required by school policy to be at a pick-up point at least 5 minutes before scheduled stop time, if the student is not there then the driver is required to press the horn and wait one minute before moving to the new pick-up point.
Our Buses and Routes Pleasant Schools has a 16 bus fleet consisting of 14 buses less than 10 years old with less than 100,000 miles (we also have 2 older spare buses) Three of route buses are equipped with digital cameras with more coming in the following year. We have routes for all school buildings along with routes to tri-Rivers, St. Mary’s, Marion Catholic, and special needs routes to MARCAA, Harding and Heritage. Periodic maintenance is done every 3,000, 5,000, 8,000 miles with daily pre-trip inspections. Besides factory recalls and major repairs, all work is preformed in our well-equipped garage.
Driver Requirements All drivers are required by the state to have the following:
Annually 4 hours of in service Physical Checkup 3 emergency bus evacuations
Monthly DMV/FBI background checks Random Drug and alcohol checks (with mandatory checks with an accident of over $500.00 damage or personal injury) 6 year recertification Any in-service done quarterly by the school
